Sup negroes, i'm at jerk work letting you know i'm still alive.
My computer decided to take a dump so I had to replace the power supply - that was slightly difficult to hook up, now I need to reseat my processor and get some thermal paste to make this baby work.
Unfortunately I won't get started on that mini-project until next week sometime since my sister is getting married and I'm going on a cruise for the wedding.
I will make sure I will be wary of any Vegas lurking about in Key West.
Maybe I will post while on the boat - i'm not sure how much they charge if anything for the internet.
Piece. |

Poooocky!!! How ya doing?! It's good to hear from you again. I thought Vega trapped you in his closet--Err, shazbot!! Damn, I miss hearing the terminator intro remix.
Have fun at the wedding, and get your PC up and running again so you can spam TS with your awesome remixes.

Well, I am still working on the computer. I reseated everything and repasted my HS/F onto the processor. Strange thing though is I may have fucked up with buying the wrong PSU, which should be compatible, and I have set it up in a number of configurations. Only some of the combos have resulted in the computer turning on, but I do not get any vidjo. I have been able to reconnect my old PSU and it boots without a problem. The original issue I was attempting to resolve was that I encounter random freezes without BSODs, especially when watching vidjos or listening to music.
Basically there could be a whole host of problems with the system and I'm working on it with my limited time.
I have yet to
-test memory
-flash bios
-install my psu adapters for my new psu
Never thought my own computer would be the biggest pain in the ass I've worked on |

| What kind of motherboard and psu did you get? AFAIK the only things that should be incompatible between recent models of each would be the 20/24 pin main plug and 4/8 pin cpu power, which new power supplies can do both. |

You got it, Turkey.
I'm using a asus p5wd2 premium which has a 24 pin and 8 pin 12v. This is an old system I am attempting to fix.
My old PSU used the 20 pin and a 4 pin 12v, and ran fine for years although I've heard I should have been using a 8 pin all this time because of my Pentium D 820.
The new PSU is some cheap piece that I got on geeks.com for 35 bux including shipping. 650 watt with a 20pin+4 attachment and a 4 pin 12v. I ordered the 8 pin adapter in hopes that should fix everything. Obviously the rest of the hardware isn't ruled out just yet but it is old and I also have some XP cleaning to attempt first. The old PSU i replaced because I started freezing and I had noticed over the last month or so previous that the PSU started making funny noises, which is a tell-tale sign.
Thanks for the input! |

Yeah , I just know this because I've had to replace 2 power supplies in the last week at work and ran into that exact problem with a server (except I needed an 8-pin 12v and only had a 4-pin). |

Anyway,
My new PSU is POS. I finally got that 12v 4 pin adapter to 8 pin, and it plugged in alright. Bastard still refused to start. I reseated everything. Then I took the whole damn computer and put it on cardboard to eliminate any shorting problems. She started for 2 seconds then fireworks from the PSU. Thankfully my old one still works. I'm using a shitty LGA 775 board with the plastic clips for the heatsink/fan which I totally loathe because it kept unseating. I have since gotten everything plugged in and lined up properly and she starts with the old psu. I'm going to flash the bios and see if she wants to run for more than 10 minutes. If that is the case I'm sure I'll be seeing you guys soon. I'm currently using my laptop to crack the wireless networks around my girlfriend's place. Fun shit. I'll probably just get to work on my new system and install my new motherboard instead of messing around with this one. |

I wish.
That reactor was quite nice, I am looking forward to relaunching the space program and conduct nuclear experiments on other planets. I will be back online quite soon as I will hopefully be running a stable system and reactivate my interwebs. Stay tuned. After speaking to Nooba briefly, Vega is going to be in a world of shit when I come back. |

Poor Vega! his life will be miserable again once you return.
I approve the relaunch of the space program and nuclear experiments on other planets. By the way, are you going to join the North Korea Nuclear Testing Program (NKNTP) this year?
LOL! Here's the missile launcher you made a few months ago:
Yes, glorious!!! |

I did pickup a new vidjo card, and my current system did seem more stable although while installing the drivers I BSODed a couple times. have not tried the fix i came up with.
I picked up a Sapphire radeon hd 5770 1gib which is pretty nice for the monay.
The new system comes when the gubment pays me back.
That motherboard was some crazy-shit one I read about on a site. I'm sure i'll go intel when the return comes, I just gotta figure out what kind of budjet I'll be working with. I'm dying to come back and kill shit.
I was just thinking the other day when I took my old vidjo card out and held it in my hands on how many hundreds of thousands of kills have been attributed to that piece of hardware. Keyboard and mouse will forever be my weapon. |
